Mount Masami
Masami isn't currently up right now, we've been trying to get things running for a few years, but something always comes up. However, recently, we decided to get the team back together and get this puppy going. Currently, we're adding some new ideas in and reintroducing old ones. We should be up and running within a few weeks. If you're interested, feel free to roam Masami while we get things set up, or maybe you could even join and give us some feedback on what you'd like to see. Thank you so much for your patients and we're very very sorry!

Paragraph Count: 7

The clouds above and around the tip of the mountain were clearer than normal. She could see the dots above her head floating around. She was baffled by the number of land masses there were just floating around. Yuko stared at them in amazement for a long period of time. The wind almost felt like it was softly blowing in one ear and exhaling out the other. Her chest arms and legs grew goose bumps on her and her arms were pinkish in color. The touch of them were slightly cold. The climate was in fact colder than normal. She shivered in the weather and slipped her high school sweater on.

She looked down from the clouds and her eyes hurt from intense stares. They watered a bit as they adjusted to the focus she as now getting used to. She walked over to her book bag and opened up some old pockets she hadn’t opened since she got to Masami. There were old gum wrappers, a couple scrunched up pieces of paper, and a note pad with only a few pages left. She noted down the large list of things she wanted to accomplish in Masami before she died. She wrote down ‘Prank Princeton, find a powerful weapon, travel to the core of Masami, travel to some of the above mountains, and plenty more.’

She smiled at the paper but sighed at her weak heart when she figured she was alone on this journey. She’s always had a sense of doubt in her, but that’s what always kept her going in the long run. The corners of her cheeks lifted up again before she folded the paper. Most of her goals were simple, but a lot of them also seemed near impossible to accomplish.

Her dirty yellow book bag was soon beat up even after the short amount of time she was here. Her dad bought her the bag for school and it was new before she traveled over. The soak in Aniwa River and the killer travel through Demon Trees wore it down after just the first few hours she was here. There weren’t any holes in the bag, just loose pieces of yarn hanging off the bag. Her bundles of quirky key chains were all smudged up as well. Her Buzz Light Year chain had fallen off. She never realized it was missing will now.

Yuko grabbed her bag forcefully to look for the Buzz Light Year chain. She unzipped everything. The bag looked like it grew two times larger than normal with all it’s pockets hanging loose with no secure bond between one pocket to another. Things inside her bang were tumbling out. Useless things in her bag tumbled to her knees. She looked at the nik naks and tossed them behind her. Yuko gave up on looking for the key chain and placed the things she needed back into her bag.

Within a couple of minutes, her bag was neatly placed beside her Bloody Edge and an extra pair of shoes beside that. The grass around it was worn out and laying down from the stress of holding up her bag. She looked at the to do list again and placed that in the bag as well. She wasn’t sure why the list was so important to her, but it was. She put it in the big pocket, the one she opened the most. She needed the thought of seeing that list everyday when she opened up.

Daichi emerged from the trees and found Yuko on the beautifully designed bridge. There were carvings alongside it with old peoples faces and flower prints. She liked the look of them and could only imagine the artists who had enough time to craft such beautiful wood carvings. She tossed the list back in her bag one more time and zipped her bag quickly. She folded her arms in front of her legs and smiled at Daichi. He gave a confused look and nodded her over to him. Yuko nodded back and grabbed her bag.

Paragraph Count: 7

The loops of one of her bag’s arm holes comfortably swallowed Yuko’s left arm up to her shoulder. The other arm hole was left to dangle as it was easy enough for Yuko to carry the bag with just one shoulder. She grabbed her shoes and clipped them off the back of her bag. She used an easy clip from her junk inside the bag to put on the shoes to put them on the bag. This made it easy for her to switch from sandals to converse whenever she needed to.

Her sword was lonely on the curved bridge. She yanked the sword up and let the sheath hang of the right side of her waist. She took four steps forward to chase Daichi as he never waited up for her. Before she continued, She looked back to make sure she didn’t leave anything behind that was important. She had no emotion in her face when she looked back. There appeared to be nothing, but she checked again to make sure she wasn’t missing anything. She nodded to the bridge and took off.

She saw the long tail of Daichi’s disappear inside the trees. She ran inside them as well to find Daichi. It wasn’t hard to find him since it was almost noon out so the sun beams shot down onto the pink leaves and gave off a pink tone to the environment. She expected Daichi to lift his wing as usual for Yuko to safely hide under. He didn’t. She then expected him to slow down so that she could hop onto his back. He didn’t. “Hey Daichi, what’s wrong? You’re kind of leaving me out here…” She trailed off.

Daichi didn’t turn around and retained his mysterious character. It took him a total a ten seconds to respond, but who’s counting? “You need to learn how to protect yourself.” He whispered. Yuko could barely hear him so she ran faster to get near his barely opening mouth. “I can’t always be there to protect you. I will be there when you need it, but you’ve got to be independent,” Yuko felt extremely offended by the independent comment. She scowled at him rudely but he gave no attention and she gave up.

Not only was he refusing to protect her, but he was also walking a bit faster than normal, forcing Yuko to be tired out as she walked by him. She got worn out and decided to slow down a bit hoping Daichi would respect her wishes and slow down with her. He didn’t do that either. Yuko just decided to meet up with Daichi when they got to Aniwa River. When she prepared to turn, Yuko was confused by the path Daichi was taking. He ended up settling down at an unusually large tree that dangled down much like a fort.

The blossoms were still pink, but the branches simply drooped down. They provided as a curtain for them. “We’re staying here for tonight.” Blankley stated Daichi. Something really seemed to be bothering him today. Yuko knew that he was always a blunt and intelligent creature, but he seemed angry or upset. He seemed like he was always zoning off into space, thinking about a hurtful memory, but when he comes to, he just simply gives orders and then returns to being plain again.

Yuko nodded and let down her items. Her book bag rolled off her upper arm until it reached the corner of her inner elbow. From there, she simply dropped it onto the patchy ground. It looked like this tree has had visitors before since the grassy ground was worn down into dirt in some patches. She tried to lay down her sweater in the most of the grass she could so she didn’t have to lay on the dirt. Her blades simply took that part and slept themselves to sleep on the dirt.

“Hey Daichi, whatya say we go see your family?”

Paragraph Count: 6

Daichi’s eyes widened in thought and daggered Yuko right in the heart. His pain was unbearable and it was obvious by his look. He was pissed at Yuko for ever bringing it up. Yuko was terrified by Daichi and it was the first time since she first found him. Her heart pounded and her mind raced with the possible things he could hurt her for. She needed his protection the most against him, but it was like he was completely against her at this point. She shut her mouth before she spoke another word.

“Nevermind” She whispered under her breath. She tried to look casual and kneel down to her book bag, open it, and rummage through the mess she was forced to make. She ripped open the zipper and the roar of the bag’s zipper distracted everyone’s anger for a moment. Yuko pretended to grab out something that wasn’t there to give an illusion that she was busy. She put the imaginary object in her pocket and grabbed her blade once again before she stormed out.

Yuko stomped out of the tree’s curtains. Daichi could have cared less about her immature attitude and then continued to stare off into space and let the young girl figure things out herself. She simply walked out with her eyes closed shut, refusing to look at Daichi with her chin held up. Her back was pin straight and she marched out. Once she left the sight of Daichi, she slouched again.

“So that’s what’s wrong with Daichi today…” She mumbled through the gaps between her teeth. She looked back to where she came from to make sure no one could see her and continued walking. The days were long here on Masami and a little walk to settle off some steam was just enough for Yuko to bypass time. Normally she would spend her days checking her facebook or chatting with her friends through the phone. School was also a distraction, but that was gone as well. She didn’t exactly miss all the technology, but it did feel like something was missing.

Back at the tree, Daichi planned to take a nap while the blabber mouth was out of his worries. He patrolled inside the tree real quick before lying down. His head peered around the trunk and between the branches for any bother. He didn’t see anything so he walked back to his laying area. His back hoof suddenly knocked over Yuko’s bag. Nik naks of all sorts tumbled out including a neatly folded piece of paper. Daichi unfolded the paper by holding one hoof on one flap and the other hoof pushed the paper flat.

Diachi read the paper. He didn’t know how to read the English language too well, although he could speak it fluently. He could make out some words, but it always took him a while to. Daichi studied the paper until he could read what it said. Every bullet point blurred out except “Travel to the above mountains.”

Paragraph Count: 5

Daichi took hold of the list in his mouth and waited for Yuko to come home. He was sort of pissed at the girl, but he could understand where she was coming from. The mountains are curious and most people would beg to go there. He just simply knew that if his strong family couldn’t even make it back after years, then Yuko would never be able to make it. He had to talk to her about to dangers of the mountains above.

Yuko sighed and turned back around. She figured she should owe Daichi an apology. Her footsteps were quiet as she grew closer to the droopy tree. She even whispered her thoughts to herself. Yuko was hoping that Daichi was taking a nap by now since she was gone. She stood by a tree close by were her eyes could easily see the tree Daichi was staying in. The wind around her brushed the hair off her shoulders and blew them back out of her face. The wind settled down and the hair sat back down just like it was before.

She sighed before she continued walking. Her footsteps were still quiet until she stepped on a now broken legged branch that had fallen off of the tree above. She groaned in giving up and walked on as normal. She pushed the curtains out her the way and marched in the same way she did as she left. She noticed that Daichi was wide awake and she failed in a mind faint. She forgot about him and was ready to put her stuff away. Her bag was knocked over with her items fallen out. Her head jerked up to Daichi’s face. Her list was at the edge of his mouth.

His lips unfolded as the stray piece of paper swiveled down to the ground. A miracle enough, the paper landed with the list up front. His eyes daggered at Yuko and she gulped a frog down her throat. “So you wanna go to the land masses above, now don’t you?” He said in a familiar voice Yuko had heard before. “Well you can’t. It’s not safe for you. You could die if you even got a mile to the lands. The monsters there are far worse than what’s here. The beings here have been strong enough to keep Mount Masami pure enough. The other land masses can deal with their own problems.”

Yuko’s chicken neck lunged forward and her arms were lifted from her waist. “I’m strong enough! I can help purify the other lands too!” She shouted. Her arguments weren’t very clear and just over dramatic. Daichi didn’t give into the drama and simply laid down onto the grass. She couldn’t get anywhere without him anyway so he tried not to make a big deal out of it.

Paragraph Count: 4

The moon was waking as the rest were falling asleep. The moon almost looked like a simple ring without a center. The moon shined a more shimmering color than the one back on Earth. It almost felt that the world was soon at peace once the moon rose, but the growling of demons got worse as the sky shaded. Yuko had just gone out in search for some berries and slashed a poor innocent creature. She was hungrier than ever. She was used to just catching a fish and roasting it on an open fire anytime she wanted to when she was back by Aniwa River. Yuko wasn’t sure why Daichi wanted to sleep under the tree though, but she followed his orders regardless.

“Hey, I’m sorry about earlier today.” She finally brought up as a goal she planned to accomplish as soon as she got back. “I wasn’t even thinking about your feelings” The campfire crackled and the light danced around the shadows of her face. Daichi’s ears were working full on, but he pretended to be asleep during her apology. “Daichi?” She looked up from the campfire and saw him sleeping. Her sigh was loud in attempts to wake him up. “Well, at least he can’t say I didn’t apologize.”

Daichi finally gave up the act and groaned. Yuko’s lonely feeling swept away as she felt his breath brush by her knees. “I understand where you’re coming from, don’t worry. I would like to go to the above lands too. I just can’t risk hurting you right now.” Yuko suddenly felt wanted and her heart thumped loud. Daichi was like the father that Yuko has always wanted. Her dad back at home probably wouldn’t have cared if she got hurt. In fact, her dad put Yuko in dangerous situations himself. “Now, you go onto bed, we’ll forget all about this tomorrow, ok?”

Yuko nodded and rested her head down. Her face continued to show off their dances on her face as she curled up in a ball to stay warm. The nights were hard at the top of Mount Masami. She had no warmth but the fire and the blanketing of Daichi’s wing. She was already wearing her high school sweater and her snuggest jeans. She decided not to bother Daichi while the rest of the night so his wing wasn’t over her body. She shivered herself to sleep.

Paragraph Count: 6

Daichi couldn’t sleep. He kept thinking about the list inside the bag. He kept thinking about the faces of his parents, siblings, and friends. He was left to be the only Pegasus on the mountain to help protect it. Daichi’s nerves were bothering his as he suddenly became nervous. His mind kept thinking and asking questions. When are you gonna leave?, If you leave now and come back quickly, Yuko would never know, You’re gonna die just like the rest of your family, right? He shook his head clear of the thoughts.

“Yuko!” he whispered loudly. Yuko simply moaned a little and twitched her shoulder but never woke. Daichi stood up and hovered over her. “Yuko! Wake up!” he whispered again. Yuko rubbed her eyes continuously as she spoke without the ability to see a think. He also nudged to ground in attempts to vibrate it to get her to notice.

“Wa-what’s wrong?” She quivered her lips a bit. Her forehead and cheeks were sore red as the blood rushed to her risen upper body. Her hands finally released from the hollows of her eyes but her eyebrows were now a mess. Her eyes focused difficulty as she tried to see the mass in front of her. Daichi soon became clear but in a dark blue misty fog. The fire they fell asleep to has soon worn out in such short time. Yuko was only asleep for two hours before Daichi rudely interrupted her.

“Come on, Yuko” He nodded his head to the opening of the tree curtains. “Get your stuff, we’re leaving.” Daichi left the curtains, but Yuko could still see him walk away through the holes between each branch. “And get your armor on, you’re going to need it” He shouted into the distance. Yuko could barely hear him as the sound waves were very weak in her direction.

Yuko struggled as she got the chain mail wrapped around her. Each ringlet indented onto the clothes she had underneath. She never wore her armor without her clothes as the metal was too cold on her skin. The part that was meant to be her hood dangled off her neck like a necklace as she never wore the hood unless she needed to. She grabbed her sword and bag and chased off after Daichi. “Hold up!”

She sprinted toward the winged horse. He slowed a bit but not much. She finally reached him out of breath and tired legs. Just waking up, she was not ready to handle this, but she had to get used to it. Daichi stopped and signaled Yuko to get on. Yuko nodded, grabbed his reigns, and swung herself over. He didn’t think for a moment to walk and just took off. His wings flapped once again and the wind pushed against their faces as usual. Yuko kept her hand on the handle of the Bloody Edge and waited for an explanation.

Flying to the Mountain Above (Solo) Empty Re: Flying to the Mountain Above (Solo)

Post  Maebh Wed Sep 14, 2011 7:43 pm

Ooc: Sorry this post is a bit random. I just needed something to write about and thought it couldn’t do much damage to continue on with this RP.
Paragraph Count: 6

The wind dances through Yuko’s and Daichi’s hair. They could both feel the dancers small, delicate hands intertwine with small locks of hair. Small beads of tears from Yuko’s eyes would rapidly rush off the apples of her cheeks since the wind force would hit her tired wet eyes. The air was rather light but the atmosphere between Daichi and her was dense. It was awkward to hold tightly onto Daichi’s reigns since she wasn’t sure how to react with someone she just had a fight with.

The floating lands around her were moving. Well, she wasn’t sure if it was because the wind or if it was because Daichi and her were flying so fast that it was an illusion. She thought the wind pushing the mountains sounded more epic so she stuck with that thought. Yuko wasn’t clear as to where and which mountains Daichi wanted to explore first, but she just went along with it staring at the oddly shaped lands ahead of her. The thought of the other lands shape made her think of what Masami looked like from a distance. Her curiosity couldn’t bare to wait as she looked behind her.

The carefully carved mountain was slowly migrating behind her. It looked as though a lonely man had nothing better to do but spend most of his like creating this land as a piece of art. She was disappointed that there were masses of clouds in the way of most of the mountain but what she could see as of now was completely breath taking to her. She was so distracted that her hands became loose while her mind was tingling in joy. Soon, adrenaline rushed through her limbs while a hot feeling pounded in her chest. She had accidentally let go of Daichi while she was distracted.

“Yuko!” Daichi screamed back at her as he quickly was released of her weight on his back. Her hair was now being brutally beaten by the dancers while the ends of her hair whipped her cold cheeks. Daichi flew vertically down chasing after her rag doll body. His quick reflexes had gotten her just in time along with his powerful wings that went against the air. When he got her, she was laying on her belly draped around his back like an old towel thrown on the arm of a chair. Her heart was pounding in fear while her hair was entangled on her lips and around her lashes. “How could you be so foolish?! I knew this was too much for you! We haven’t even gotten to one of the lands yet!”

“Sorry, I was just looking at masami behind us, I guess I got too distracted.” She carefully adjusted herself on Daichi once more. They were still dangling in the air so if she fell, Daichi would have to be hero of the day again. She held tight to his reigns this time, caught her breath, and exhaled deeply. “I really thought I was going to die back there.” She checked to make sure everything was still with her and nodded shockingly. “ok, we can continue on”

Daichi was worried with what was still ahead of them if Yuko could be so clumsy as of now, but he let her off this time since she had just woken up. He was used to a dopey Yuko after she would wake up but he thought of that as his next mission; to get Yuko more alert of her surroundings. “Ok, we’re off”
